Peter Vink is beeldend kunstenaar. Hij werkt vanuit de gegeven ruimte en kiest een detail of materiaal dat de kwaliteit van deze ruimte benadrukt. Aanleiding voor de uitnodiging om deel te nemen aan Zetel was het eindexamenproject "Locatie S00" in de Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2001. Een project waarbij Peter Vink als ruimte de gang koos in het souterrain en reageerde op het aanwezige buizenstelsel aan het plafond. Hij bedekte de vloer met 16 km strak tegen elkaar gelijmde grijze pvc buizen die daar waar zich een deur bevond ombogen tot een strakke poort om vervolgens hun weg weer voort te zetten. Het leverde een sterk visueel beeld op dat het gebruik van de gang niet belemmerde. Voor het maken van zijn installaties is veel concentratie en discipline nodig.

Dezelfde manier van werken hanteert Peter ook voor zijn bijdragen aan Zetel die al naar gelang de gegeven opdracht en ruimte steeds opnieuw zullen worden bedacht en uitgevoerd. In 2003 in de expositie Arti et Sedibus koos Peter Vink de zaal met de ongelijke hoeken waarvan de wanden wel parallel liepen. Hij maakte een autonome installatie met zetels en spieramen met een knipoog naar de geschiedenis van het gebouw van Maatschappij Arti et Amicitae.

Voor de KunstRai 2004 maakte Peter Vink de stoel In optie. Een poef met bijbehorend wandelement opgebouwd uit plastic speelmunten. De stoel kan in groen of rood worden uitgevoerd. Het werk maakt een knipoog naar de vele rode en groene stikkers die tijdens een beurs in de stands opduiken.

Peter Vink is a visual artist. The chosen space is his reference point and he selects a detail or material which will emphasise the special spatial quality. His final exam project, “Location S00” at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2001, was the reason Zetel invited him to participate. He chose a basement corridor for that project and he reacted to the network of pipes present there. The floor was covered with 16 kilometres of grey plastic pipes tightly glued to one another. They were bent to become fixed gates where the doors were, only to continue further on the floor. The result was a strong visual image that left the use of the corridor uninterrupted. Much concentration and discipline is needed to create one of his installations.
Peter is creating his contributions to Zetel in the same way. They will be devised and realized in accord with the given space and mission. Peter Vink chose a room with uneven corners but with walls that ran parallel for the exhibition Arti et Sedibus In 2003. He created an autonomous installation of seats and canvas stretchers, a reference to the history of the Maatschappaij Arti et Amicitae building.
Peter Vink designed the chair In optie/ To take an option for the 2004 KunstRai. It is a hassock and an accompanying wall component made out of plastic toy coins. The chair can be produced in either red or green. The piece refers to the many red and green stickers that appear in the stands during art fairs.
