Met een titel die refereert aan de vleesgeworden misdadiger (" Ik ben Gerrit / en ik steel als de raven / ik ben een dief / in de ogen der braven") geeft deze in wit suède gecapitonneerde boudoirversie van de zigzagstoel commentaar op oorspronkelijkheid en originaliteit.
Ik ben Gerrit stelt nadrukkelijk de kwestie van noodzakelijkheid ter discussie: moeten er wel zonodig nieuwe stoelen ontworpen worden, zolang de oude nog prima voldoen. Al moeten ze ter verhoging van het comfort en de aaibaarheid desnoods gestoffeerd worden.

This boudoir version of the zigzag chair in patted white suede comments on authenticity and originality with a title that refers to a popular Dutch song about a thief called Gerrit. The “design” emphatically poses the question of necessity: do we need to design new chairs as long as the old ones still satisfy. Even if it is necessary to upholster them in order to increase comfort and feel.
